FAQ

Individual sessions are offered at $165 for 50 minutes and $250 for 80 minutes.

Couple or family sessions are $250 for 80 minutes and $360 for 120 minutes.

I maintain several sliding scale spots for those facing financial barriers, so please ask about availability during our consultation.

What is your availability?

I currently hold sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If these times do not align with your schedule, please reach out via email so we can attempt to find a more suitable time together.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Absolutely. I provide a 15-minute initial consultation via phone or video at no charge. This is a low-pressure way for us to meet, address your concerns, and determine if our dynamic feels right for your healing journey before committing to a full session.

Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?

Virtual sessions are available for residents across Canada. For those preferring to meet in person, I practice at the EMDR Therapy Group in downtown Vancouver. You can book an office visit directly through emdrbc.com.

Can I use insurance to cover therapy?

Most extended health benefit plans provide coverage for services with a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) or Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). I suggest contacting your insurance provider to verify your specific plan details before we begin. Receipts are issued after every payment.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide a minimum of 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or missed appointments will be billed at the full rate. I do take genuine life emergencies into account on a case-by-case basis.

What if I have never done therapy before?

Starting therapy for the first time is a courageous step, and it is natural to feel hesitant. You do not need to have a perfect plan or even the right words to begin. My role is to maintain a calm, non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts at your own speed. We only move as fast as you feel comfortable.

What is the first session like?

Our first meeting is focused on building a foundation of trust. We will explore what brings you to therapy now, your goals for our work together, and any questions you have about my methods. I will lead with some gentle inquiries to get us started, but you are always in control of how much you choose to disclose. We conclude by discussing a potential path forward.

What if I don't want to do EMDR therapy or continue with EMDR therapy?

No problem at all. We co-create the approach together and if something isn't feeling right, we adjust. EMDR is something I believe in deeply but it is one tool, not a requirement. If another way of working feels better for you, we pivot. Your comfort and your instincts always guide the process.

How often should I come to therapy?

Frequency is tailored to your specific goals and lifestyle. Most clients find that starting on a weekly or biweekly basis provides the best momentum, but the decision is always yours based on your needs.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Privacy is a cornerstone of our work. There are specific legal limits to confidentiality, such as if there is an immediate risk of harm to yourself or others, or if a child is in danger. In such rare cases, I prioritize being open with you about the necessary steps we must take to ensure safety.
